Question from Steve: Asked on 14/09/2010 I'm looking to get a new ASUS laptop as my old one has packed up. I was looking at either this or the ASUS X5EAE-SX086V, and was wondering if the difference in price makes a big difference in performance (largely for the graphics card as i would play a lot of games on it)

Answer from simon: Answered on 14/09/2010
They are both the same spec other than the graphics card. The X5DAF-SX061V has better graphics so will be better at handling 3D content such as 3D games. If you are not playing games go for the cheaper model.

Question from Annoyed customer!: Asked on 24/08/2010 What an Excellent product summary and tech spec that tells me nothing about this laptop at all.

We have limited information on this model due to it being so new and it's now even on Asus site, see below
http://uk.asus.com/AllProducts.aspx?PG_ID=1quIC6RvvlvcvNbn

I have emailed our web team to try and add more information to the site.

How many usbs = 4
memory card reader = Yes
Speed of Hardrive = 5400rpm
Whats the resolution = WXGA
Bluetooth = No
What speakers does it have? Stereo

Asus are Samsung are both decent laptops the two ranges you are looking at are very similar. For the money for the Asus you are looking at you can get a Samsung with a i3 but shared graphics. So if you are not a gamer it would be worth considering a Samsung.

Any more questions question call sales.

Question from James: Asked on 27/07/2010 So would you say this is an inferior laptop for gaming than the Acer 5739G as that is what the answer above seems to indicate.

Answer from simon: Answered on 28/07/2010
For a budget around this price the 5739G would be a better option, this Asus is still a good laptop for the money though. The 5939 has a slightly lower processor but better graphics card so it would give you better performance for games. E.g better at lighting effects, texture mapping and would give better frame rates in games.

Question from Nick: Asked on 24/07/2010 Will this lapton run games such as Oblivion, Sims 3, Total War etc??

Answer from simon: Answered on 26/07/2010
It will do but I would also look at the Acer 5739G which has a better graphics card.
