Question from PM: Asked on 25/06/2007 Hi - I have no interest for playing games but I do a lot of photoshop stuff and compressing/decompressing LARGE files of up to 3/4gig.
Is this laptop significantly faster than my current AMD64 3000, 1gig ram and can I reduce the gfx ram to give me more system ram? Thx

Answer from Easycom: Answered on 30/06/2007
This laptop will be faster then your current laptop. You can change the ram distribution within the BIOS

Question from mm: Asked on 30/05/2007 Does this laptop have bluetooth?

It does not

Question from ck: Asked on 13/05/2007 What's the main difference between this model 5633wlmi LX.AU30J.056 and the 5103wlmi LX.AG20J.127, ignoring the price, webcam pixel size, and no. of USB ports?

Answer from Easycom: Answered on 16/05/2007
The two models differ in the processor and graphics card. The Intel processor in the Aspire 5633 offers slightly more battery life while the ATI card in the Aspire 5103WLMi will give better gaming performance.

Question from ajc: Asked on 11/05/2007 I am looking for a middle price allrounder... how will this perform with games please? Would I be better with the Acer Aspire 5014WLMi with a Athlon? I would be grateful for your advice...

Answer from Easycom: Answered on 16/05/2007
This Aspire is fine for picture and movie editing, surfing the web and document creation, however it does have a shared graphics card so it would not be ideal for playing games.

Question from Gaz: Asked on 09/05/2007 i am looking for a laptop to run product design programmes at university. i am interested in the Acer Aspire 5633WLMi (currently 449) but i am unsure about the graphics card. Would i be able to get away with using the integrated graphics card on this laptop?

Answer from Easycom: Answered on 10/05/2007
You should be able to but check the system requirements of any applications that you plan on using. If your usage includes any high quality 3D renderring then you might be better off with a dedicated graphics card. It would be fine for 2D renderring though.

Question from laptop virgin !!!: Asked on 08/05/2007 what are the main differences between this model and the cheaper model lx.au30j.090 priced at £449.97 apart from the memory size?

Answer from Easycom: Answered on 09/05/2007
The laptops are identical apart the standard memory size, however as I write this we are running a limited time special offer making the LX.AU30J.090 excellent value for money.

Question from FRED: Asked on 08/05/2007 / fred ; if i buy ACER Aspire 5633 WLMi which have an operating system of window media center edition is it possible to change it to window Vista HomePremium instead ?

Answer from Easycom: Answered on 08/05/2007
There is a paid upgrade route from Media Center to Vista, however if you want to run Vista you would be much better off with a Vista pre installed notebook.

Question from Sam: Asked on 02/05/2007 Can you change the harddrive so that it runs as a single drive rather than 2 partitions?

Answer from Easycom: Answered on 02/05/2007
There are a variety of programs that would allow you to do this, however the 2nd partition contains the restore system so you need to create restore disks before you delete it.

Question from Chua: Asked on 10/04/2007 How could I make use of this restore partion if my Acer Aspire 5633WLMi crash ....

Answer from Easycom: Answered on 10/04/2007
The restore partition allows you to wipe the hard drive and completely reset the machine to the state it arrived in.

Question from Donald: Asked on 19/03/2007 Hi,

I am very interest in the Acer Aspire 5633 WLMi - LX.AU30J.056 laptop after seeing it's positive review in Computer Shopper magazine. However according to Computer Shopper there are couple of things that are putting me off. I would like to know if these can be changed.

1. It has a restore partition. Could I have a restore CD instead?
2. It features Norton Anti-Virus. I have used Norton in the past and am very unhappy with it. Could I buy the laptop without AV installed as I would simply add my preferred AV

Many thanks

Donald

Answer from Easycom: Answered on 19/03/2007
Instead of providing a restore CD, Acer now ship all their laptops with a restore partition, and give you the option to burn your own restore CD, which we would highly recommend. The pre-installed Norton is just a trial version which you can easily remove and replace with your own AV software after you have set up the machine for the first time.
