Question from Jan Áki Andreasen: Asked on 20/03/2011 I have this netbook, and I upgraded it to 1,5 GB RAM.
I would like to run Windows 7 on it. Is it possible, and which version should I choose?

Answer from paul: Answered on 21/03/2011
It wouldn't recomend it. Your best option would be Windows 7 Starter rather Home Premuim as it needs less resources.

Depends what resolution you need on the screen, I'm not familiar with the software so I couldn't answer that one.

Question from DaveG: Asked on 23/03/2009 I'm very interested in this machine, but always try to get hold of a manual to confirm exactly what it is I'm buying before I commit. Is the user guide or similar available for download from your site?

No

Question from Al Sames: Asked on 04/02/2009 I'd like to buy one of these for each of my children to use for school and home work. I need two different colours: ideally a white one and a blue one. The required spec is 1GB 160GB Windows but I can't see this being available in blue. Can you please confirm the part numbers for both the white and blue products? Cheers, Al.

Answer from SteveF: Answered on 05/02/2009
Hi Al, please give our sales team a call on that one.

Question from IanM: Asked on 30/01/2009 I bought this from you a couple of weeks ago and it arrived fast so thank you and your team. (BTW i absolutely love it) What I would like to ask is can the RAM be extended easily?

Answer from SteveF: Answered on 02/02/2009
Yes, there are two slots for ram, both have a 512mb chip in, one of those is permanent. If you take out the other 512mb chip and replace it with a 1GB ddr2 - 533mhz chip, you'll be running off 1.5GB ram. Please give our sales team a call for prices on the upgrade.

Question from Chris: Asked on 15/01/2009 I would want to use office applications (including Visio) and PaintshopPro basic editing, and video downloads, e-mail and browsing. How does this compare to a normal laptop?

Answer from SteveF: Answered on 16/01/2009
This is netbook which is built for browsing the internet, e-mails, web games, downloading music and using office. You might struggle with paint pro as the screen isn't really meant for editing and won't shown much detail.

Question from M: Asked on 15/01/2009 Can you buy both a 16Gb solid state hard drive with Linux installed and also a 120Gb hard drive with windows installed (both options for your Acer Aspire One range) and swap between them? If so how much extra would you need to pay for the two storage drives and the one computer? This would be for backup in case of mechanical problems when traveling.

Answer from SteveF: Answered on 16/01/2009
Sorry, the machines are set up by the manufacturer and we buy them boxed so we can't swap hard drives etc. The linux version of the machine does come with a XP disc if you want to change the OS but the hard drive is fixed.

I want to use it mainly for surfing the internet, email, downloading photos and perhaps using Office. Will it support Itunes? Also, we have Norton installed on the desktop computer, will I be able to use the same copy on the netbook or will I have to buy a separate package?
Thanks

Answer from SteveF: Answered on 09/01/2009
Hi, yes to all of those uses and it will support ITunes. As for Norton, ifs its a multi user license then you'll be able to use it on this machine.
