Question from SteveW: Asked on 08/01/2009 I have been tracking this laptop (Samsung R560) on your website for over a month and sourcing reviews etc from the web and mags and just when I go to buy this laptop I notice your price has increased. The price of my potential second choice, the Samsung R610, has also increased. Is this not counterproductive in the current market conditions, especially as competitors appear to be reducing prices? On a positive note my household has bought three laptops from laptopsdirect over the last 14 months and the experience and service has been good.

Hi, thanks for the comments. On the matter of price, it depends how much we are paying for the item. We have a set margin and work around that. Unfortunately stock does deplete and we may need to source it from somewhere else which can result in a price change, up or down but please give our sales team a call and we'll see what we can do for you.

so the r610 is more expensive just for its HD screen?

Perhaps it was to make it run in dual channel mode with 2x2GB in, or they could have done it to benefit those upgrading to a 64 bit operating system, I dont know.
